You can safely use a plastic shovel to remove snow from Tufdek vinyl deck covering, as long as the shovel has no sharp edges. In extreme snow and ice areas, you can use salt.

Tufdek is a factory-finished product which requires no re-coating. The vinyl is virtually maintenance free – regular cleaning with soap and water will help maintain its good looks.

Powder coating is a type of durable coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. It differs from a conventional liquid paint in that it does not require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension form. Rather, the coating is applied electrostatically and is then gelled and cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a "skin." All of the powder for our Vista applications is “Super Durable Polyester “ – the highest quality of exterior grade powder coating designed to exceed AAMA 2604 – one of the toughest paint standards in the industry for weathering specifications.

Vista uses both a surface mount post with a 4” x 4” base plate as standard, as well as standard fascia brackets (also referred to as side mount posts). The Sundeck Centre can provide more information on your specific project needs.

Vista recommends using 5mm (3/16”) tempered. When using the Vista Windscreen system, 3/8” tempered glass is the standard but ½” glass can be used as an option.

No. Although Plexiglas and Lexan are extremely strong they do not have the rigidity to meet the load-bearing criteria set out by North American building codes. Also, Plexiglas tends to yellow and scratch easily.

Depending on your local building code, railing typically needs to be a minimum of 42”, finished height for surfaces more than 70.75” from ground level. For lower surfaces, a 36” inch railing may suffice.

Wash product regularly using a good quality automotive car wash, and rinse with water along with an application of quality automotive car wax. Do not use acid solution, steel wool, or harsh abrasives. Clean glass panels by removing dust and grit with a generous application of water, remove grease and film deposits with a mild solution of soap and water; and rinse thoroughly. We recommend an annual inspection of railing, fencing and/or patio cover and fasteners to ensure structural integrity. Please check and replace caulking according to manufacturer’s warranty.
